Code of Conduct in Nayland Care
 
 
 

Staff must recognise that they should respect the fact that they are working in the homes of service users and should adhere to the following rules:

You must show respect, courtesy and understanding towards service users.

Provide care in a professional, enabling and appropriate manner

Be aware that you are not permitted to accept gifts of cash pr kind, nor act as executor, witness appointee or beneficiary to a service users will.

You must not enter into private arrangements with the service users to provide additional services.

Employees must not smoke in a service users home.

Employees shall not drink alcohol or consume any recreational drugs whilst on duty, nor shall they be unable, due to the consumption of alcohol or drugs, to perform their duties in full.

You shall not take others such as friends, relatives or children, into a service users homes.

You shall not take a service user to your home.

You must be familiar with the confidential policy and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Employees shall not use a service users property or possessions for their purposes unless it is directly in connection with delivering the care.

Employees should not undertake their own shopping or other financial activities at the end same time as undertaking tasks for service users.

Employees shall not lend money or property to, nor borrow money or property from a service user.

Employees shall not buy anything from, or sell anything to service users, including mail order catalogues.

Employees shall not normally use a service users telephone for incoming or outgoing personal calls.

Employees shall have with them their identification badge or card at all times whilst on duty.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action being taken against you and may lead to your dismissal.
